Bayards Raised Beds

During the summer term of 2016-2017, having bid successfully for a grant from the Ernest Cook Trust, we set about building some raised beds. Y6 pupils were involved in all aspects of the build - from putting together the frames, to wheelbarrowing soil for the beds and gravel for the paths, to filling and raking. . We now have three raised beds for school use - one for each phase. This is just one of the intiatives that are part of our wider amibtion to develop outdoor areas that can be used for outdoor learning and exploration.

We will further develop the beds this year, tidying up the surroundings and adding three more beds, so that eventually we will have one for each year group. We also plan to provide tools and to source some cheap/free seeds, plants, etc
