Our intent is to provide our students with high level quality first teaching of our curriculum, alongside a range of experiences and opportunities to ensure the greatest progression for all students. Through this, we will raise children’s aspirations and develop their self-esteem and resilience.
The range of our curriculum offer promotes diversity and is designed to widen cultural capital; it is delivered through the Early Years and National Curriculum as well as drawing on the best practice and research from outstanding curriculum packages, to ensure coverage and progression. Reading is a core focus through the curriculum as we know that poor reading is a major barrier to accessing the rest of the curriculum. Mastery is at the forefront of our curriculum implementation to ensure learning is lifelong.
Our four key drivers:
- Reading (to enable access to the rest of the curriculum)
- Raising aspirations and building self-esteem and resilience
- Cultural capital and diversity
- All of the above will lead to mastery of knowledge and skill
